How do I stop procrastinating when working from home?

I started working remotely 6 months ago and I've become the biggest procrastinator alive. I sit down at 9am, check my phone, make coffee, \"quickly\" check social media, and suddenly it's 1pm and I've done nothing. I know I need to work but my brain just won't cooperate. I've tried to-do lists, they don't work. What actually helps?

To-do lists don't work for procrastinators because they create overwhelm. Here's what actually works based on psychology research:

1. The 2-minute rule. Tell yourself you'll just work for 2 minutes. That's it. Anyone can do 2 minutes. The magic is that starting is the hardest part — once you start, you'll usually keep going. This is backed by actual neuroscience (it's called \"activation energy\").

2. Phone in another room. Not on silent — not face down — in another room. Out of sight, out of mind. This single change will probably double your productivity.

3. Time-block with Pomodoro. Work 25 minutes, break 5 minutes. Use a timer. During the 25 minutes, ONLY work on one task. No tabs, no phone, no \"quick checks.\"

4. Eat the frog. Do your hardest, most dreaded task FIRST thing in the morning. Your willpower is highest then.

5. Body doubling. Use a site like Focusmate where you work alongside a stranger on video. It sounds weird but it's incredibly effective for ADHD-adjacent procrastination.
