How do you easily remove dried sticky pine tree sap from your bare hands without using harsh chemical paint thinners?

I was trimming some pine trees in my backyard garden and my fingers are completely coated in a rock-hard sticky crystal sap that normal soap and water won't clean. What solvent breaks it?

Pour a tablespoon of standard kitchen olive oil vegetable canola oil or a scoop of peanut butter directly onto your dry sticky hands. Rub your hands together firmly for two minutes; the natural lipid oils break down the sticky pine resin polymers effortlessly allowing you to rinse with warm soapy water.
