How do you fix a loose drawer handle when the screw hole is stripped?

The cabinet knob keeps falling off because the internal metal threads are completely stripped. How do you fix it using toothpicks wood glue or a thread sealer?

Pack the stripped hole with a wooden toothpick dipped in wood glue, snap it flush, then drive the screw back in. The toothpick acts as new anchor wood.
