I keep getting rejected for jobs. What am I doing wrong?

I've applied to over 200 jobs in the last 3 months and only gotten 3 interviews. I have 4 years of experience in digital marketing and a decent resume. I'm starting to feel like something is seriously wrong with my approach. Anyone been through this?

I've been on both sides of this and I'll be honest — the problem is almost never your qualifications. It's usually one of three things. First, your resume isn't passing the ATS (Applicant Tracking System). Most companies use software that filters resumes before a human ever sees them. If your resume doesn't have the exact keywords from the job description, you're getting auto-rejected.

Second, your resume probably reads like a job description instead of a list of achievements. Change every bullet point to start with an action verb and include a number. Instead of "Managed social media accounts" write "Grew Instagram following by 340% in 6 months across 4 brand accounts."

Third, you might be applying to the wrong level or wrong type of role. Tailor every single application. Don't just hit "easy apply" on LinkedIn. Write a short cover letter that directly addresses the job posting.

Also, network. 70% of jobs are filled through referrals. Reach out to people at companies you want to work for on LinkedIn. A simple message saying "I'd love to learn about your team" can open doors that applying online never will.
