My iPhone battery drains from 100% to 20% in just 3 hours. What's wrong?

I bought my iPhone 14 about 6 months ago and lately the battery has been dying insanely fast. I charge it to 100% in the morning and by noon it's already below 30%. I don't play games or stream videos all day. I just use social media, texts, and some browsing. I've already turned off background app refresh for most apps. What else can I do? Should I just get a new battery?

First, don't panic — this is super common with iPhones that are 6+ months old. The most likely culprit is a degraded battery. Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health and check the percentage. If it's below 80%, Apple officially considers it \"service recommended\" and you should get it replaced. Apple charges around $89 for out-of-warranty replacement.

But before spending money, try these steps: Go to Settings > Battery and look at the graph. If any app shows excessive background usage, that's your problem. Also, disable Location Services for apps that don't need it, turn off 5G if you're in a weak signal area (the phone works harder to maintain connection), and make sure Low Power Mode is on when you're below 40%.

If none of this helps, do a clean iOS restore via iTunes/Finder. A corrupted system file can cause mysterious battery drain that no setting can fix.
