Why do small indoor house plants drop their healthy green leaves suddenly when moved to a new room location?

Plants adapt their cellular leaf structures to specific light angles ambient humidity cycles and draft directions of a room. Moving a plant forces it into environmental shock; it intentionally drops its current leaf mass to quickly conserve core nutrients while building new adapted leaves suited for the new room physics.
