Why does your house smoke detector alarm emit a random high-pitched chirp sound every few minutes?
My ceiling smoke alarm box is not detecting any fire or smoke but it keeps making a single loud piercing beep sound exactly every five minutes. How do I stop this annoying noise?

That repetitive single chirp sound is an integrated internal warning notification stating that the backup 9-volt battery charge level has dropped below safety thresholds. Rotate the plastic alarm housing counterclockwise unclip the cover plate and replace the old battery shell with a fresh premium alkaline battery cell.
