Why is the sky blue during the day but red at sunset?
What atmospheric physics cause the sky to change from bright blue at noon to deep red and orange during sunset?

This is caused by Rayleigh scattering. Gases in the atmosphere scatter short-wavelength blue light in all directions during the day. At sunset, light travels through more atmosphere, scattering all the blue away and leaving only longer red wavelengths visible.
